Find Out If You Qualify

Here's a quick run down to see if you qualify!*

  1. Do you have difficulties walking or standing to complete basic activities of daily living in your home?
    • If "Yes," move to question #2.
    • If "No," you won't qualify for a power chair at this time.
    For example: difficulties moving from room to room, getting to the bathroom in a timely pace, being able to stand to prepare meals, cleaning, grooming, bathing or home management.
  2. Can a cane or walker solve your ambulation difficulties?
    • If "No," move to question #3.
    • If "Yes," you won't qualify at this time.
    For example: difficulties moving from room to room, getting to the bathroom in a timely pace, being able to stand to prepare meals, cleaning, grooming, bathing or home management.
  3. Can you operate a manual (push) wheelchair, by yourself to complete your daily activities?
    • If "No," move to #4.
    • If "Yes," you won't qualify at this time.
    For example: A) you do not have the upper body, arm, shoulder or hand strength to operate a manual chair; or B) you do not have the endurance, range of motion, coordination or absence of pain to push the manual chair; C) or you get out of breath or feel over exerted using a manual chair.
  4. If you have difficulties getting around your home and cannot use a cane, walker, or manual wheelchair, you should qualify for insurance coverage for a power wheelchair!
